Shenzhen Marriott: An Art Gallery Hotel by ATG

ATG's Innovative Design and Construction of the Marriott Hotel in Shenzhen

The Shenzhen Marriott Hotel, located in the CBD of Nanshan District, stands at a height of 300.8 meters with a construction area of 45,000 square meters. The hotel boasts 340 guest rooms, including 338 deluxe rooms, one presidential suite, and one vice presidential suite. The project was completed between 2009 and 2014, with ATG overcoming numerous challenges to bring the design to life.

ATG faced difficulties in the construction process due to the use of diverse materials and complex construction techniques. Ensuring that materials were joined naturally and avoiding quality problems such as cracking posed significant challenges. However, through the application of the EPC model, ATG successfully completed the project in a way that realized the design drawings and demonstrated the seamless integration between design and construction.

One of the unique features of the project was the installation of a spiral staircase without any support. The design and construction team worked closely throughout its design, manufacturing, and installation, applying a self-developed modular method for installation. The result was a staircase with aesthetic formation and delicate texture.

Another challenge was increasing the restaurant floor height. ATG utilized BIM software to optimize pipeline routes and reduce the intersections of pipes in the restaurant area, increasing the floor elevation of the space to 3.2m. This innovative use of technology was a key factor in the successful completion of the project.

The Shenzhen Marriott Hotel project was awarded Silver in A' Construction and Real Estate Projects Design Award in 2019. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. The award is a testament to ATG's commitment to excellence and innovation in design and construction.
